Hello & Welcome 

A warm welcome to you as I imagine you are taking a look into counselling and counsellors and are probably wondering quite where to start and with whom. You may be new to counselling or perhaps are thinking of coming back after a break. I personally think that every person would value having someone to truly listen, understand and not judge and this is where I may come in for you.

Please have a read through my website which will hopefully give you a flavour of who I am, what counselling is and what I can offer you.  Please do get back to me with any questions and I look forward to hearing from you as you take that initial and sometimes scary step to obtain the support you need.

What is counselling?

Counselling is not giving advice, it is working out what you need and finding the solutions which seem hard to grasp in times of difficulty. Counselling is an opportunity to talk and be understood, without judgement.

My counselling style

My main style is known as ‘integrative’ which means that I am trained in several styles that can ‘integrate’ together. Counselling is not ‘one size fits all’ and will be tailored to suit your needs. We can decide together on what style of counselling would be a good fit.

However all of these styles are underpinned by an empathetic, understanding and non-judgemental approach.This means that sessions are focussed on your needs and we will work together to understand and meet any goals you may have.

What do I do next?

Starting any therapy can be a big step. Initially we will meet together so you can ask any questions before we begin properly. I will ask you to fill in a short form about yourself and include your contact details. I will also send you over my contract so you read how I work and then once signed we can begin!

Normally we will stick to a regular weekly appointment which will be your personal slot.
