I would say that if you are finding day to day living a struggle or perhaps an issue constantly is on your mind, then counselling could help. There is no long commitment in counselling, so you could always give it a try and then we could review after a few sessions and see how you feel.
I am based in the Southampton area and there are a couple of different locations that we could meet. One in the Waterside area and one in the centre of Southampton.
A session is 50 minutes
This is difficult to answer before you have started therapy but we will have regular reviews so that you can reflect if counselling is working for you.
After you have made contact, I will offer you a slightly shorter initial session in person or via video call (30 mins) for you to decide if you would like to proceed. When you decide to proceed then this fee (£30) will be deducted from the first session. Then if we are both in agreement, we will agree a regular time slot and I will ask you to fill in a short form about yourself. I will also send you a contract to sign, and then we can begin.
I have my level 5 certificate here I can show you and I am a member of a professional body (ACC)
Confidentiality will be kept unless you are or someone else is at risk of serious harm. The contract explains this more fully.
I accept payment via bank transfer and I can send you a payment link beforehand. Payment must be 24 hours in advance.
I mainly offer face to face because I think that clients will get the best out of their sessions this way. However, online is very convenient and it is something we can discuss together in our first 30 minute online or face to face meeting.
Of course sometimes you may need to cancel which is completely understandable. Cancellations are non-chargeable as long as 24 hours’ notice is given. If notice is not given within this time, then full payment will be charged.
No, this is not a requirement but I do often find that clients get the most benefit if they attend regularly and often a lot of change happens between the sessions which is worth talking about whilst it is still in your short-term memory.
